Great Horned Owls are birds of prey native to America. As apex predators, they have no natural enemies and roost on their throne at the top of the food-chain. Their talons, beak, and carnivorous diet classify them as raptors. Great Horned Owls are highly territorial and will fight for their space. Our scarecrows are modeled after the Great Horned Owl and made in Tennessee. They are blow-molded with recycled materials and hand-painted by Americans.

Our scarecrows really do scare crows and other varmints, but it is up to the gardener to use the Great Horned Owl properly. Don't expect our owls to magically keep every pest out of your garden and away from your home. Animals aren't stupid and through observation can determine what is and isn't a threat. We suggest using our Great Horned Owl only at times when your space needs the most protection. When utilized, it is best to periodically re-position the Great Horned Owl to keep wildlife guessing. There's nothing wrong with leaving your owl on display season after season for ornamental purposes, but doing so will likely make the scarecrow's efficacy drop.
